review: revolut falsely reported me to cifas a nightmare experience
i totally understand that all banks and other financial institutions have a duty of care and protecting themselves and safeguarding themselves and others from financial fraud; however, they have turned this into a joke! a payment was paid to me, and they raised a request for me to provide the information and source of the funds. they held the money, and I gave them the information, including the information and contact information of the person who had paid me. it was a payment of £2800.00, not a big amount, and they completed their review and happily released the payment, and my account was back to normal. then, a few days after, I received an email to say they are closing my account, and I have x amount of time to move my money! I didn't think much of it, but when I tried to get a new bank account, I was denied by more than one bank, and I was confused about why! so I requested a report from cifas! that's when it all came to light and the fact that they submitted a false report against me! avoid avoid avoid this bank; your life will never be the same again!
i had been a loyal revolut customer since 2018 and have banked over and above 1 million pounds in my bank account since I have been banking with them, using their services without issue until I was blindsided by an unjust and damaging action on their part. without any prior warning, revolut suddenly restricted my account and, soon after, reported me to cifas for fraudulent activity. this was completely false, and to this day, I have received no valid explanation for their decision.
the worst part? the lack of transparency. revolut never provided a clear reason for the report, nor did they give me a fair chance to challenge it before taking such a drastic step. my account was simply frozen, and soon after, I discovered that I had been marked by cifas, affecting my ability to access banking services elsewhere. this kind of reckless reporting can have serious consequences, potentially blacklisting someone from the financial system for years—something I never expected from a supposedly innovative and customer-friendly bank.
i have since spent months trying to clear my name, going through the lengthy and stressful cifas dispute process. revolut's customer service has been unhelpful at best, either ignoring my complaints or giving vague, uninformative responses. for a financial institution to take such extreme actions without proper investigation or justification is not just irresponsible but potentially damaging to innocent customers.
if you value your financial stability and peace of mind, I strongly advise avoiding revolut. a bank that can falsely accuse and report its customers without due process is not one to be trusted. I hope they take accountability for their actions and implement better safeguards, but for now, I would warn anyone against using their services.

I need to do payments online, and I cannot because my phone was stolen, on top I've lost access to my email related to the Revolut account because of the same reason, and it's impossible in my situation to contact the Revolut company. When I go on PayPal to add money from Revolut to PayPal, it says transaction failed. I tried to contact PayPal and they tried to resolve the issue, but they said it's not PayPal's fault and it was Revolut's.
So they told me to contact Revolut. Therefore, I am trying to contact you.

9 days ago my revolut business account was compromised, someone had somehow gained access to my account, and it was right after a deposit was made to my account, so I went to secure my account noticed my email and phone number had been changed, so O changed my email without issues, but couldn't change my phone number so I messaged support in the chat section, at the same time I was messaging another person was messaging too trying to obtain the funds in my account. I was asked to submit a selfie holding a hand written note which I submitted to the chat, they changed my phone number and signed out all devices without any issues.
Then I was told I had to change my password then they would enable my account again. So for the last 9 days I have followed all their directions and have tried every option available including uploading my drivers license and passing the face scan for some reason the document scan is coming up as unable to verify although there was no issue prior to my account being disabled. The "password-change" page that attempts to load changes to the main website when it loads preventing me from accessing the password reset page. I have sent multiple recordings and pictures to show the process I am doing, I have talked to so many agents I lost count and I have to continuously explain the issue and explain that I Have already done every option available to change it from my side.
I am talking to yet another support agent whonis again asking for another recoding even though I have sent 7 emails to both email addresses i was given and I checked and there is every video they keep asking for, I am again sending another email with new recodings to show I am completing the process exactly as instructed. I am now behind on bills and am facing shut off due to my funds being held from me. i have asked about closing my account so I could be issied my balance and they ignore my request and send me to another department who tells me the same thing ad the department before, I have talked to multiple supervisors who tell me the same thing as the person before, I have asked if I was talking to a bot because of the same responses I get. There is no number to talk to a live person only a 24/7 chat which as I've started hasn't done anything except for repeat the same "forgot password" steps a dozen times plus.
I have asked if they could sent me a link to my email or do a temporary password change until my account is enabled again and I can gonin and chnage it, they say that the ONLY way is through the forgot password steps which none of which have worked for me. I am so frustrated and upset over this and don't know what to do in order to have access to my account and or funds. I am a victim and being treated as if I've done something wrong. I am about to contact the Better Business Bureau next.
To add to this, my ID scan finally went through and I was able to update my password finally after 9 days, but then they tell me they are doing a review, yet they was supposed to be doing a review the whole time my account has been disabled.
And today I am trying to contact someone and one support member closed the chat, send me a link that I not able to access. I'm so frustrated and just want access back so I can move on.
